Taylor Swift didn’t let an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction throw her off during a third sold-out show at Estádio Nilton Santos in Rio de Janiero on Monday night (Nov. 20). According to videos posted by fans, Swift soldiered on after the heel broke off of one of her glittery Christian Louboutin boots. Welcoming the fans to the international Eras Tour date — in Portuguese no less — Swift pulled a real-life Barbie act by holding the back of her right foot up as if her feet were in permanent high-heel position before diving into “Lover.”
According to EW, it was not clear how or when the heel broke, but it seemed to be missing during her run through “The Man” in an earlier portion of the Lover set. In another video, Swift appears to pull the busted heel off and toss it to the side before getting back to business.

The Monday night gig was a make-up for Saturday’s show at the same venue, which was postponed due to a brutal heatwave hanging over the nation. The rescheduled gig meant that Swift could not be on hand to watch beau Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs face off against the tight end’s brother, Jason Kelce and his Philadelphia Eagles in their eagerly anticipated Monday Night Football showdown.
Saturday night’s show was postponed due to safety concerns over “extreme temperatures” in Rio that topped 100 degrees Fahrenheit. “I’m writing this from my dressing room in the stadium,” Swift shared in a handwritten note on her Instagram Story Saturday. “The decision has been made to postpone tonight’s show due to the extreme temperatures in Rio. The safety and well-being of my fans, fellow performers, and crew has to and always will come first.”
The night before, Swift expressed her sorrow in a post over the loss of 23-year-old fan Ana Clara Benevides Machado, who died after attending the opening night of the singer’s Eras Tour in Rio. The woman was treated by paramedics after she reported not feeling well and was later taken to a hospital, where she died, according to an Instagram post by T4T; Machado’s cause of death has not yet been revealed.
“I can’t believe I’m writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show,” Swift wrote on Instagram. “I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this. There’s very little information I have other than the fact that she was so incredibly beautiful and far too young.”
