For Taylor Swift, being named Time's 2023 Person of the Year presented a purr-fect opportunity.

In one of three cover photos for the magazine, released Wednesday, the singer poses in a long-sleeved black bodysuit and black tights with an accessory that might be mistaken for a fluffy boa at first glance but, in reality, is her Ragdoll cat Benjamin Button.

Swift, 33, celebrated her latest achievement by sharing that cover to her Instagram feed, posting her hilarious reaction in the caption: "Time Magazine: We’d like to name you Person of the Yea- / Me: Can I bring my cat."

She went on to share a few more stunning images from the photo shoot, writing in part, "The biggest, loudest, most aggressively over-excited thank you to @time for naming me Person of the Year."

Swift is "mom" to three cats: Scottish Fold Meredith Grey, whom she adopted in 2011; Olivia Benson, who is also a Scottish Fold and joined the family in 2014; and Benjamin, whom she got in 2019.

Benjamin's sweet adoption story started when Swift met him as a kitten on the set of the music video for "ME!" Benjamin starred in the video alongside Meredith and Olivia, though Swift wasn't his cat mom just yet.

In an Instagram Live video with Panic! at the Disco frontman Brendon Urie, Swift talked about how she took Benjamin home with her after the video shoot. "He was just a cute kitten who didn't have a home," she said, noting that he was part of a program that "tries to get cute kittens adopted by putting them in commercials and stuff."

When the handler asked the 12-time Grammy winner if she wanted to hold the cat before their scene, she said she knew then he would be coming home with her. "She handed me this tiny cat and he just starts purring and … he looks at me like, 'You're my mom, and we're going to live together.' I fell in love," Swift said. "I looked at Brendon and he's like, 'You're going to get the cat, aren't you?' "

A few days later, Swift introduced him to the world on Instagram with a cute photo of the two of them, writing, "And then there were three … "

In her wide-ranging interview for Time, the "Lavender Haze" singer also broke her silence on her romance with Travis Kelce and clarified the timeline of their relationship.

“We actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other," Swift said.

That means that by the time the pop star was spotted at one of Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs games for the first time, on Sept. 24, "We were a couple," she said.

"I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date," Swift added.

As for her appreciation for her beau's sport, “Football is awesome, it turns out,” she quipped. “I’ve been missing out my whole life.”
