After Lady Gaga’s name made headlines due to speculation that she might be pregnant, the Chromatica hitmaker dismantled the rumors with a TikTok encouraging fans to vote. Gaga not only dropped a link to register through Headcount but referenced Taylor Swift’s Tortured Poets Department track, “Down Bad,” in the process. “Not pregnant—just down bad cryin at the gym,” Gaga wrote over the clip (which, honestly, is a legendary way to break her silence).

Gaga’s clip eventually landed on Taylor’s For You Page, and she left a lengthy comment in support of the Haus Labs founder. “Can we all agree that it’s invasive & irresponsible to comment on a woman’s body,” Tay wrote. “Gaga doesn’t owe anyone an explanation & neither does any woman.”

The pop pioneers have a long history of supporting one another. Taylor’s pre-show playlist for the Eras Tour includes Gaga’s 2013 hit “Applause,” and way back when, Gaga got real about Taylor during an interview with Howard Stern.

“You know, I’ve met her a few times and I can’t say anything bad about her,” Gaga explained on his radio show in 2014. “I think it was at the AMAs or something, her and I were sitting next to each other and she goes, ‘I love ARTPOP and I love ‘Applause’ and ‘Applause’ is my favorite song!’ and I was thinking, Yeah, yeah, yeah.

She continued, “But then, my buddy called me and she was doing a shoot and he styled her for a shoot and he goes, ‘Taylor Swift is in here and she’s blasting ARTPOP so loud, and she’s dancing and she’s posing.’ And I said to myself, I like this girl. You know why? Because she said the same thing to my face that she said behind my back.”

In 2015, Gaga sent Taylor well wishes on Twitter and reassured her that her “prince charming will come.” A few years later in 2019, the “Fortnight” singer presented Gaga with her second Golden Globe for A Star Is Born’s “Shallow.”

Hoping we get to witness more wholesome moments (and potentially a collab) between these two soon! 💕
