Taylor Swift and Beyoncé have often shown their support for each other over the years

As two of the biggest names in the music industry, Taylor Swift and Beyoncé have a unique bond that has created a lasting friendship.

In addition to mingling at award shows and hanging out at parties together, the two have cheered each other on in their career endeavors.

Most recently, Beyoncé made a surprise appearance at Swift’s Eras Tour film premiere in Los Angeles. After the film’s premiere, Swift posted a sweet video of them in the theater, praising the “Energy” singer for being “a guiding light throughout” her career.

September 13, 2009: Taylor Swift and Beyoncé share a sweet moment at the MTV VMAs

One of the first times the singers publicly interacted was at the 2009 MTV VMAs, where Kanye West infamously stormed the stage during Swift’s acceptance speech for best female video for "You Belong with Me.”

Taking the mic from Swift, West proclaimed, "Yo, Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'ma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time!" The moment was met with boos from the crowd as Beyoncé looked shocked in the audience.

At the end of the award show, when Beyoncé was awarded video of the year for “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It),” she shared a sweet moment with Swift as she asked her to come back out on stage and give the rest of her acceptance speech.

“This is amazing,” Beyoncé said as she accepted her award. “I remember being 17 years old, up for my first MTV award with Destiny s Child and it was one of the most exciting moments of my life, so I would like for Taylor to come out and have her moment.”

Following Swift’s speech, the two shared a hug and left the stage together. “It was so wonderful and gracious of her,” Swift told reporters after the show. “She’s always been a great person ... I thought I couldn’t love Beyoncé more and tonight happened and it was just wonderful.”

December 13, 2014: Beyoncé and JAY-Z attend Taylor Swift’s 25th birthday party

The singers reunited again in 2014 as Beyoncé and JAY-Z attended Swift’s 25th birthday party at her home in New York City. During the party, which also included guests such as Justin Timberlake, Sam Smith and Haim, Beyoncé and Swift posed for a handful of photos together, including a fun snap in the photobooth.

February 2015: Taylor Swift talks about her love of Beyoncé

Ahead of the 2015 Brit Awards, where the singers were up for the same award, Swift couldn’t help but gush about the “Diva” singer while speaking with KissFMUK.

“It’s like, normal for everyone to love Beyoncé, but I love her more than that amount, like more than the normal amount,” Swift said, per E! News.

“I try really hard not to let it get creepy,” she joked. “I just really like, channel it into a joyous admiration and appreciation.”

She continued, "I'm nominated usually against lots of my friends, so you have to — just for the sake of humanity and for the sake of having a good time — legitimately be happy for other people.”

"The only way that I'll be upset, is if we don't get to see Beyoncé," she added. "I won't be upset because I didn't win. I'll just be like, 'I wish that we could see her all the time.'"

At the 2016 Grammy Awards (at which Swift took home album of the year for 1989 and Beyoncé made a surprise appearance onstage to present record of the year) the singers shared a hug backstage.

During the 2016 Met Gala, which Swift co-chaired, she and Beyoncé were spotted chatting inside the venue and posing for a photo together in front of a rose wall.

June 17, 2019: Taylor Swift references Beyoncé in her “You Need to Calm Down” music video

As Swift addressed the disruptiveness of stan culture in her “You Need to Calm Down” music video, she featured several ​​RuPaul's Drag Race alumni dressed as pop superstars. In addition to including singers such as Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry and more, she made sure to include Beyoncé in the lineup.

Drag Race host RuPaul also appeared in the video, carrying a crown, as Swift sings "We all got crowns, you need to calm down.”

March 14, 2021: Taylor Swift cheers for Beyoncé at the Grammys

Though they didn’t pose for any photos together at the event, Swift was seen enthusiastically cheering for Beyoncé when the latter made history as the most-awarded female artist in Grammy history. (Beyoncé later broke the record for all-time Grammy wins at the award show in 2023.)

That same night, Swift also made history as she took home album of the year for Folklore, becoming the first woman to win the award three times.

March 19, 2021: Taylor Swift receives flowers from Beyoncé

Following their historic wins at the Grammys, Swift revealed that she received a gorgeous bouquet of flowers from Beyoncé.

On her Instagram Story, Swift shared a photo of the flowers, tagging Beyoncé in a hand-drawn heart. In a second post, Swift shared another shot of the bouquet (which resembled her floral-patterned Oscar de la Renta dress) and the note from Queen Bey herself.

The handwritten note read: "Taylor, Congratulations on your Grammy. It was great seeing you on Sunday night. Thank you for always being so supportive. Sending love to you & your family. B."

Swift shared her gratitude for the gift, writing, "Woke up to flowers from the queen of grace & greatness @beyonce and suddenly it's the best Friday EVER. Thank you B and congratulations on your epic achievement Sunday night!!"

February 5, 2023: Taylor Swift and Beyoncé share a hug at the Grammys

October 11, 2023: Beyoncé attends Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour film premiere

As Swift celebrated the release of her Eras Tour concert film, she had the support of Beyoncé, who made a surprise appearance at the Los Angeles premiere. In addition to snapping a photo together on the red carpet, Swift shared a heartfelt tribute to the singer on Instagram.

“I’m so glad I’ll never know what my life would’ve been like without @beyonce‘s influence,” Swift began the Instagram caption, which was written alongside a boomerang video that showed her and Beyoncé inside the movie theater. “The way she’s taught me and every artist out here to break rules and defy industry norms. Her generosity of spirit."

“Her resilience and versatility,” the “Love Story” singer added. “She’s been a guiding light throughout my career and the fact that she showed up tonight was like an actual fairytale. 😇🙏🥹.”
