Taylor Swift announced a new version of The Tortured Poets Department at her show on Friday night in Sydney, Australia and brought a surprise guest out on stage!

Speaking to fans as she sat at the piano during the show, the superstar began by saying, per a video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter): "It's good to have options, Everyone likes options, you know. I wanted to show you something if you will direct your attention to the main screen."

"This is an alternate cover for The Tortured Poet's Department," she continued, as the audience cheered at the sight of the new edition of the upcoming album on the main screen behind her.

"And so this edition is called "The Albatross" because there is an exclusive bonus song on this vinyl called "The Albatross," and I can't wait for you to hear it."

As well as the exciting announcement, Swift also had another treat in store for her Sydney audience.

"I also have another fun thing if you want another fun thing," Swift continued, adding, "Would you like another fun thing?"

Swift then explained that earlier in the evening she had been trying to "figure out this whole weather situation" — her show was delayed due to rain and a nearby lightning strike — explaining that they only had "this window where the weather is going to be not crazy and dangerous."

"My incredibly talented, wonderful, gorgeous, hilarious, genius opening act Sabrina Carpenter, she heroically sacrificed her show, which I think is a crime against Sydney. And I think it needs to be fixed, so I'm going to bring her out now, is that OK, Sydney?"

As the crowd roared their approval, Swift was then joined on stage by Carpenter, 24, who wore a silver mini dress and white platform boots, before the two duetted on a medley of "White Horse" and "Coney Island."

Watching from among the 81,000 strong crowd at the Sydney stadium was Swift's boyfriend, Travis Kelce, who was spotted cheering her on from a VIP tent, and even sporting a selection of friendship bracelets. Kelce, 34, wasn't the only celebrity guest in attendance, as fellow singers Katy Perry and Rita Ora were also spotted in the crowd at Friday night’s show.

After cheering on boyfriend Travis Kelce at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, Swift, 34, jetted to Australia days later to perform a series of sold-out shows in Melbourne.

“It’s just incredibly nice to do for someone. Make them feel welcome like that," Swift continued.

At the first Melbourne show, the singer also surprised the audience by unveiling a new version of her upcoming album, The Tortured Poets Department, during her acoustic set.

"I think more than any of my albums that I've ever made, I needed to make it. It was really a lifeline for me. Just the things I was going through, the things I was writing about," she said onstage. "It kind of reminded me of why songwriting was something that actually gets me through my life."

With a couple days off between her Melbourne and Sydney dates, Swift has been spending quality time and enjoying the sights Down Under.

Earlier this week she stepped out for dinner with pal Sabrina Carpenter, who's opening for Swift during her latest leg of shows.

On Wednesday Swift visited the Sydney Zoo with her backup dancers, who cuddled with koalas, wombats and more. After Kelce was seen landing from the States, the couple returned for a day date, which included a private zoo tour, according to local reports.
