Taylor Sheridan’s Next Drama Starts Production, Reveals New Details

Another Taylor Sheridan drama series is getting underway.
Paramount+ announced that Landman has started production and revealed a more detailed description of the show and its cast.

Landman stars Oscar winner Billy Bob Thornton. The official description reads: “Set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, Landman is a modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs. Based on the notable 11-part podcast Boomtown, the series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.” The drama is co-created by Oscar nominee Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace.
Thornton briefly appeared as another character in Sheridan’s 1883, and the cast has some other returning actors from the Sheridan-verse. The series stars Ali Larter (The Last Victim), Michelle Randolph (1923), Jacob Lofland (Joker 2), Kayla Wallace (When Calls the Heart), James Jordan (Yellowstone), Mark Collie (Nashville) and Paulina Chávez (The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia).
Filming has begun “in and around Fort Worth, Texas” — which is near Sheridan’s sprawling Four Sixes ranch — and is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios and Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions.
Landman joins Paramount+’s growing slate of Sheridan shows, including 1923, 1883, Special Ops: Lioness, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King and Lawmen: Bass Reeves. There is also Sheridan’s flagship show, Yellowstone, which is expected to begin filming for the Paramount Network show’s final season this spring.
