Taye Diggs, James Van Der Beek, Anthony Anderson to strip for charity in “The Real Full Monty”

Tyler Posey, Bruno Tonioli and the NFL’s Chris Jones will also star in the special, which will raise funds for cancer research.

Several male celebrities are getting ready to bare their souls (and bodies) for the sake of a good cause.

Fox has announced plans for The Real Full Monty, a two-hour fall special that will raise awareness for prostate, testicular and colorectal cancer testing and research — and end with a troupe of celebs performing a striptease. The cast includes Anthony Anderson (Black-ish), Taye Diggs (All American), Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf), James Van Der Beek (Dawson's Creek), Bruno Tonioli (So You Think You Can Dance?), and the NFL’s Chris Jones.

Prior to disrobing, viewers will watch as the men "push their limits of comfortability, modesty and brotherhood” with a series of curated experiences designed to boost their confidence, push them out of their comfort zones, and strengthen their bond as a group. Per the official synopsis, they will also dig deep to "share their personal stories of how cancer has impacted their lives."

The grand finale will be a striptease choreographed by Mandy Moore, whose credits include Glee, So You Think You Can Dance, La La Land, and Taylor Swift’s Era’s Tour.

In a statement, Anderson made it clear that the special’s goal is to strip away the stigma surrounding tests for prostate, testicular and colorectal cancer.

“Don’t die of embarrassment. Get checked! That’s the message behind The Real Full Monty special,” said Anderson, who is also an executive producer. "I am honored to lead the charge of rallying these fearless men to bare it all, in order to provoke, inspire and, in this case, beg you to get screened for cancer. That’s our goal…so what are you waiting for?”

The special gets its name from a similar series of British TV specials, raising awareness for prostate cancer, which in turn got their name from the 1997 comedy, The Full Monty. The film follows a group of unemployed men who decide to create a Chippendales striptease act to raise funds for a friend. It later inspired a musical and stage play.
