The story depicts how the money-crunched cabbie takes on the life-threatening task of taking the German reporter to Gwangju to support his 11-year-old daughter and pay his rent. But how he comes to realize the importance of the German reporter getting the massacre footage out was crucial to the movement is poignant and touching.
The cast of the film includes South Korean actor Song Kang-ho as Kim Man-seob and Thomas Kretschmann in the role of German reporter Jürgen Hinzpeter.
