While the couple may have been able to repair the houses, they weren't able to repair their marriage.

Humble Beginnings
Before hitting it famous, Tarek and Christina were a couple struggling to get by.
They met while they were both working as real estate agents. They married in 2009 and began working to make their real estate business a success.
To get their business off the ground, the couple began flipping houses. After their first house flip netted them a big profit, they decided to continue their flip flopping real estate venture.
In 2011, the couple's lives would take a turn for the better. They made an audition tape of them remodeling a house, which caught the attention of producers of HGTV.
Rise to Fame
After catching the attention of HGTV producers, Tarek and Christina signed on to become hosts of the new show Flip or Flop.
The series premiered in April 2013 and showed the couple viewing properties in California that they could flip for a profit.
Viewers watched as Tarek and Christina debated on design ideas, and deal with one renovation problem after another.
When the couple was busy remodeling houses, they allowed viewers a glimpse into their home life. Away from work, the couple would enjoy spending quality time with their kids Taylor and Brayden.
Divorce Drama
As fans would learn in the spring of 2016, things weren't perfect between Tarek and Christina.
The news reported an incident in which Christina called the police saying Tarek had left the house with a gun, and she feared he was going to kill himself. The police found Tarek, who was fine and claimed he only left to go for a walk and brought the gun to protect himself from wild animals.
After the incident, Christina filed for divorce and as she would later reveal the couple had a lot of stress. Throughout the years they've dealt with infertility issues, Tarek's battle with cancer, and the hectic filming schedule of their show.
The stress became too much for the couple and they finally reached their breaking point.
Moving On
In January 2018, Tarek and Christina's divorce was finalized. Shortly afterward, Christina moved on and married Ant Anstead. In September 2019, she gave birth to her and Ant's son Hudson.
Tarek and Christina continue to keep things amicable as they co-parent. The two are often at school functions and birthday parties together.
Tarek has also started dating again. He's currently in a relationship with Heather Rae Young, who is also a real estate agent. Tarek has stated that he's very happy and he even shares photos of him and Heather on dates.
