Tarek El Moussa Jokes He Got a Tattoo of His Wife Heather's Name with a Misspelling — and Fans Fall for It!

The HGTV star pranked fans with his new forearm art, which spelled out "HETHER" in all caps

Move over, "No Ragrets" — Tarek El Moussa's got some new blatantly misspelled ink to show off!

The HGTV star, 42, shared a hilarious clip of him getting a new tattoo on Instagram on Thursday, May 9, in honor of Mother's Day coming up. Except, his tattoo wasn't quite real.

While the ink was intended to be a nod to El Moussa's wife Heather Rae El Moussa, fans quickly noticed just one small problem — her name was completely butchered.

"I’ve been wanting this one for a while, so I finally surprise @theheatherraeelmoussa with an early Mother’s Day gift! ❤️," Tarek joked in an Instagram video where he gave fans a glimpse of the tat.

"All right, Mother's Day tattoo almost done you guys, we got the wifey's name," Tarek said as his phone camera panned to a massive black arm tattoo spelled "HETHER."

"She's gonna be so excited," Tarek added, as tattoo artist Kareem Masarani gave a nod of approval.

Of course, the body ink appeared to be a joke, as Heather, 36, took it surprisingly well in the video's comment section. "😂😂😂 Cute babe," she wrote. "How romantic 🥰 one small problem. Missing and A. No biggie 🙌😆"

However, some commenters took the prank seriously.

"Is there a misspell here?? Is it HEATHER not HETHER???" read one reply.

"OMG 😳 how about spelling [her] name correctly first and foremost 😂" someone else wrote.

"Bruh did you miss spell her name 😳," said a third commenter.

The reason for Tarek's tattoo shop visit, as he revealed on his Instagram Stories, was to tattoo the birthday of his 15-month-old son Tristan to his arm, just underneath the birthdays of his older children Brayden and Taylor. But after getting the tat in "honor of his new incredible son," the proud father decided to also pull a little prank on Heather.

A follow-up Instagram Stories upload showed Tarek getting his prank "HETHER" tattoo filled out, before fans started to suspect that something was wrong.

"'Hether' is one lucky gal," one fan commented, while another responded: "I love when people think blatantly obvious jokes on the Internet are real."

Fake ink aside, it's been a busy several months for the couple, as Tarek opened up about the transition between a two-kid to a three-kid household during a Jennifer Hudson Show appearance last month. Beyond baby Tristan, Tarek is dad to Brayden and Taylor, whom he shares with ex-wife Christina Hall.

"I finally feel like I'm ready to be a dad," Tarek joked.

"It's a different experience. When I was in my 20s when I had my daughter, I was young, I was building my business," he said. "I was overwhelmed. I was stressed out. And today, I'm a little more established. I'm a little older. I'm a little wiser. So it's a different experience and I'm really enjoying it."
