Jennifer Hudson made a childhood dream come true — with a little help from an Olympian.

The talk show host is living out her “childhood dream” to learn how to ice skate thanks a training session from Olympic gold medalist and new mom Tara Lipinski.

The 42-year-old EGOT winner took to the ice with Lipinski’s help in a recent segment on The Jennifer Hudson Show, even if Hudson was a touch overdressed for the proceedings.

Hilariously swathed in multiple layers — including a hot pink puffer and matching earmuffs — Hudson headed to the ice rink with her new instructor in tow.

“You’re, like, a little overdressed,” Lipinski, 41, said, “Do you think we should pare down just to get in skating mode?”

The two started the lesson with “marching” along the boards, while Hudson — wearing a helmet and knee and elbow pads — seemingly held on for dear life.

“I feel like a baby, learning how to walk,” Hudson confided.

The new pairs team then progressed to gliding and then even spinning as Hudson became more comfortable on the ice.

“How long did it take you to learn how to do that?” Hudson asked, after the former athlete executed a lengthy twirl.

“A long time, I started when I was 3, so I was on the ice my whole life,” Lipinski replied, to which the Dreamgirls star replied, deadpan: “You know I’m 42, right?”

For Lipinski’s part, she’s been tackling a new “dream” role, as well. The Unexpected podcast host and her husband Todd Kapostasy welcomed their daughter Georgie via surrogate at the end of October, exclusively revealing their happy news to PEOPLE.

"I dreamt about this for so long," she told PEOPLE.

The sportscaster also said that she was so excited to experience everything motherhood would bring. "A crying baby, sleepless nights. Even when I'm like, 'Okay, take an hour nap,' I'm almost too excited. I'm like, 'She's there. Just watch her a little longer.'"

Lipinski added, "It's the best tired I've ever been."
