Tara Lipinski Celebrates Her First Thanksgiving as a Mom with Photos of Baby Daughter in a Turkey Dress

Tara Lipinski is feeling "grateful" after her first Thanksgiving as a mom!

The Olympian, 41, posted photos of herself with daughter Georgie and husband Todd Kapostasy on Instagram Friday, as they marked their first Thanksgiving as a family of three.

"I’ve never felt more GRATEFUL. EVER 🍁❤️," Lipinski wrote in her caption. "My heart is so full of gratitude and so thankful that this little nugget has entered our lives. Life with her is just dreamy."

"I love loving you @toddkap and can’t believe we created this little turkey. 🦃 #myfirstthanksgiving #newborn #holidayswithbaby," the proud mom added.

Georgie looked adorable in the photos as she smiled and rolled around on the floor as Lipinski crouched down next to her in one shot.

The newborn was dressed right on theme for the holiday, wearing an orange checked dress with a turkey patch on the front, as well as a matching bow on her head while lying on a fluffy white blanket.

The former Olympic champion figure skater was seen in another photo smiling as she sat and held Georgie indoors. In one other heartwarming shot, Lipinski was joined by her husband, who held their daughter as they posed for a family snap.

A final photo showed Georgie bonding with her grandparents as she was held by Lipinski's mother Patricia, while her father Jack knelt beside the pair indoors.

Last month, Lipinski and Kapostasy confirmed they welcomed their baby girl via surrogate to PEOPLE exclusively. "I dreamt about this for so long," the new mom said at the time.

After years of trying for a successful pregnancy, Lipinski — who suffers from endometriosis — and Kapostasy learned there was a reproductive immunology issue where her body would reject their fertilized embryo.

"I went through four pregnancies, four miscarriages, four D&Cs [dilation and curettage, an often painful procedure to remove pregnancy tissue from the uterine lining]," she said.

After her last miscarriage, Lipinski said, "It was like, 'Okay Tara, you've put your body through enough.' That's when I decided to think of other options."

She then formed an instant connection with her surrogate Mikayla, who became pregnant with one of the couple's fertilized eggs early this year.

During Georgie's birth, Lipinski detailed, "I was playing Dave Matthews's song 'You and Me' and I could not stop sobbing. Then the baby came out, and it was so much relief. I felt like I could breathe again."
