Tampa won’t host Sunset Music Festival in 2024. Here’s why.

Sorry, Sunset Music Festival fans. The annual electronic dance music event won’t be returning to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa — or any venue — in 2024.

Festival organizers announced they will be skipping the event this year.

”Our rebranding journey, which includes a move to a fresh venue in 2024, has been full of excitement. While we had hoped to unveil the new venue this year, it’s now clear it won’t be ready until 2025,” festival organizers posted across their social media accounts. “Rather than compromise on Sunset’s quality, we decided to take a year off to ensure our return exceeds expectations.”

Fans took to social media to share their reactions.

”Never a bad thing to take time to perfect,” responded X user @FuntCaseUK.

”Sunset music fest disappearing for a year to go on a rebranding journey is so real just like when I gave myself bangs during covid lockdown,” posted @amy_beamer on X.

EDM diehards have another option to hold them over while they wait for SMF’s next chapter. Raymond James Stadium will be hosting Breakaway Music Festival on Friday, April 26, and Saturday, April 27. Headliners include Zedd, Sofi Tukker, Illenium and Kascade.
