Talyor Swift breaks Spotify record for most streams in a day

(KRON) – Taylor Swift has made history again. Spotify announced on X on Monday that the pop star’s “The Tortured Poets Department” is the first album to have over 300 million streams in a day.

The 31-track double album was released on Friday.

The album’s first single  “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone has earned a record as well. The song was Spotify’s most-streamed song in a day. Swift, Malone and Jack Antonoff co-wrote the melody.

Beyoncé held the record previously for her second installment of Renaissance “Cowboy Carter”, which grossed 300.41 million on-demand official streams in its first full week of release.

According to a Casino.org study, the city of Santa Clara is the “Swifty Capital” of the United States, which means there are more “Swifties” per capita than any other city.
