A talk and tasting on RI shellfish in Westerly

New England's shellfish, from clams to oysters, is the next United Table event in Westerly titled “Cracking the Shellfish Code: A talk and tasting.” It will be at the United Theatre on Feb.17 from the Eating With the Ecosystem series.

Panelists are Al Lewis of Richmond Market, Nick Celico of Quonnie Fish Co. and Jen Scappatura of Quonnie Siren Oysters. They will delve into the world of shellfish harvesting and farming, from sustainable harvesting practices to the intricate art of oyster cultivation. After the panel, attendees will get to taste clams and oysters, highlighting the diverse tastes and textures.
