‘Apprentice’ Talent Wrangler Chuck LaBella Out at NBC
NBC vice president of Talent Relations/Alternative, Late-Night and Specials Chuck LaBella has been let go, TheWrap has learned.
“He’s moving on … he wants to explore other options,” a person close to the network told us, adding that the split was “amicable.”
A second source on LaBella’s side echoed the same sentiment, saying that his contract was not picked up. This person added that Chuck simply accomplished what he set out to achieve at NBC, and is looking for a new challenge. LaBella has a lot of friends in the business, the source explained, and also has the luxury of taking some time to select a new gig.

NBC has seen a lot of changes in its Alternative department this year, including the opening of an Alternative-specific studio. The reorganization may have impacted LaBella’s future with the company.
LaBella was a talent producer on “The Apprentice” from 2004-2011. Per IMDb, his credits also include the 2012 Miss USA Pageant, the “Comedy Central Roast of Donald Trump,” a season of “Workaholics” and a whole lot of “Last Comic Standing.” LaBella was also a producer for five years on Craig Kilborn’s version of “The Late Late Show” on CBS.
NBC had no comment on the parting of ways when reached by TheWrap.
