Taika Waititi and wife Rita Ora recently visited the Shrek's Swamp Airbnb in Scotland.

Taika Waititi recently joined wife Rita Ora on a romantic getaway … to the Swamp.

In a sneak peek of his appearance on Wednesday's episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the director, 48, revealed that Ora, 32, booked a stay for the couple at Shrek’s Swamp, an Airbnb property in the Scottish Highlands which is inspired by the popular animated movie franchise.

"Most of the great and interesting things in my life are because of Rita," Waititi admitted to Clarkson, 41, before explaining how the pair ended up vacationing in the secluded, moss-covered cottage.

"The article came out that Airbnb had made this replica of Shrek's house in the middle of Scotland, like way out in the middle of nowhere," he continued, as a screen showed photos of the couple dressed up as the lovable green ogre and his wife, Fiona.

After Clarkson joked that the photos were "so creepy," Waititi explained that it was Ora who orchestrated the impromptu cosplay session.

"Everyone would think that we had a camera and stuff, but that was just us two driving to the middle of nowhere. She painted herself green, she revealed she had brought these costumes, and that we were getting content," he told Clarkson with a playful smirk.

"I was like, 'I didn't realize this romantic trip was about content,'" he added with a laugh.

Not only did the couple — who married in August 2022 — dress up, but they also tried their hand at the ogres' accents. The show played a video clip capturing the filmmaker and the musician in character, talking with a Scottish brogue.

"My accent's better than hers for sure," Waititi jokingly declared.

Clarkson pressed him for more details, wanting to know if the pair sparked any romance in their ogre outfits. "I can't get away from the fact that y'all like … I really hope you made out in those costumes," she said.

"No, there was no way I could with this big rubber mask on," Waititi replied. "But we sat there in these ridiculous outfits, eating dinner in Shrek's house and Rita washed the paint of her face and was like, 'Okay, we did that.'"

Earlier this month, the "You Only Love Me" singer shared highlights from their Shrek's Swamp experience on Instagram. In the clip, she took her followers on a tour of the house, while Waititi gamely spoke to the camera in his gruff Shrek voice.

"Don’t mind us, we’re just two grown adults dressing up around Shrek’s Swamp 🤪💚," Ora joked in the post's caption. "Thank you to @airbnb and @bchesky for this amazing stay!"

She went on to address the slight artistic error in her portrayal of Shrek's wife. "Ps after filming this I realised Fiona is American but it got to dark to re film so you’ll have to get a really bad Scottish accent Fiona this year! You're welcome!!" she added.

Last month, Airbnb opened the doors to Shrek's Swamp for an exclusive two-night swamp stay for up to three guests from Oct. 27-29. According to a listing for the home, Shrek's trusty sidekick Donkey was "swamp sitting" at the time while his friend was away for Halloween.

"I’m absolutely delighted to invite you in for a fairytale stay," he told would-be visitors.

“Shrek’s Swamp is lovely. Just beautiful," Donkey continued. “You know what I like about it? Everything. The overgrown landscaping, the modest interiors, the nice boulders, all of it. I can’t wait for guests to experience this muddy slice of paradise for themselves.”
