Taika Waititi will be back as Korg in Thor: Love and Thunder.

The filmmaker confirmed the news during an appearance on The Jimmy Kimmel Show when asked about his latest instalment of the Thor franchise.

“My character’s coming back, Korg,” he said causing the audience to cheer.

Responding in Korg’s voice, the director said: “Thank you. Thank you so much for that reaction.”

While there has been much speculation over the progress of the script, which Waititi himself had to shut down, he did give an update on the writing.

“I just finished a couple of drafts of that story,” Waititi told Kimmel. “There’s more Thor!”

Chris Hemsworth will be back as the title hero as well as Natalie Portman as Jane Foster who will pick up the Thor mantle as Mighty Thor.

Portman quit the Marvel franchise after appearing in Thor: The Dark World, down to creative differences, though it seems Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok inspired her to reprise her role in a big way.

According to the Kiwi filmmaker, a plotline could see Jane Foster battling breast cancer, as she does in the Marvel Comics, before being deemed worthy to wield Mjolnir and the name The Mighty Thor with it.

The fourth movie will also see Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie back and confirmed as the MCU’s first official LGBT superhero.

“As new king, she needs to find her queen,” Thompson told fans at Comic-Con over the summer.
