Twitter lit up from viewers of the show, who were shocked by the family's major prize haul.
While RuPaul was excited about ‘The Price Is Right’ donating almost $100,000 to Planned Parenthood, many pro-life viewers were not and they took to Twitter to share their displeasure.
Even host Drew Carey supported the contestant's romantic gesture, telling his ex-girlfriend “You’re dope to dump this guy.”
On Family Feud, not at all surprisingly, a contestant used a common word for backside that may not be suitable for television. So Steve Harvey gave him a list of names he could have used in its place. And it was quite the list.
This week in game shows: a woman returned to “The Price Is Right” after 20 years; “Jeopardy!” did its 7,508th show; “Let’s Make a Deal” talked about proms.
A contestant on The Price Is Right who predicted to his family that he'd win a car, actually did win a car.
On Family Feud, Steve Harvey may have just discovered the next great rapper. Brett, an attorney, wrote a rap about her family, and of course she involved Harvey, and she wasn’t afraid to spit those dope lyrics on national television. Harvey liked the rap but doesn’t necessarily see a future for her as a hip-hop artist.
On The Price Is Right Tuesday, contestant Jayson pulled off a rare feat in one of America’s favorite games, Plinko. When bidding to get onstage and with the other bids being $1,000 or higher, Jayson bet $565, a seemingly random number at which host Drew Carey looked confused. The price of the items on which they were bidding was $580, leaving Jayson a cushion of just $15.
A contestant celebrates getting onstage on "The Price Is Right." On "Jeopardy!" Alex Trebek talked to a contestant about the time she almost got a kanji tattoo that said “dangerous” instead of “friend” like it was supposed to. On "Family Feud," a contestant was asked to name a way a woman knows her date is going in for a kiss.
When Mercedes, a contestant on The Price is Right this week, warned her fellow contestant, Samuel, that he better not bid $1 after her bid, he did what any competitive game show contestant would do: He bid $1. Neither of them won a prize on that particular bid, which allowed time for Samuel to elevate himself from just being competitive to being a flat-out troll. Because when Mercedes decided to bid $1 the next time around, Samuel joked that he was going to bid $2 on top of her.
Modern Family star Julie Bowen joined The Price Is Right on Thursday as part of the show’s Celebrity Charity Week, where she helped four of the six contestants win great prizes. One contestant in particular, Kenneth, stood out from the rest from the moment he was called to go onstage. Kenneth was emotional when he met Drew Carey, telling Carey over and over that he loves him. As if meeting Carey wasn’t enough, then Kenneth got to meet Bowen and got the chance to win a brand-new SUV.
Wilmer Valderrama was Tuesday’s guest for The Price Is Right Celebrity Charity week, where the NCIS star set a new record for most money won for charity. Valderrama walked away with over $83,000 for Voto Latino, a charity that helps encourage and register Latinos and young people to vote. Valderrama was careful not to push too hard for what he thought should be done, instead letting the contestants decide their fates, and that strategy definitely worked out for the best.
Jeopardy! contestant Doug Baker is married to Stephanie Jass, one of the most celebrated female contestants in Jeopardy! history. “There is, perhaps, more pressure on this man, Doug Baker, as a contestant on Jeopardy!” Trebek said.
Back in 2000, a young Aaron Paul got to “come on down” on The Price Is Right. Aaron bid $26,500, and Bob Barker announced, “The actual retail price of your showcase is … $26,368,” leaving Aaron in shock at how close he came to winning. During Aaron’s visit to The Late Late Show With James Corden, which is right next to where they shoot The Price Is Right, James helped Aaron break onto the Price Is Right set for another chance at winning the Showcase Showdown.
It was quite the day for The Price Is Right contestant Hector, who used the nationally televised platform to let his employer know he’s moving to Australia in a month. After spinning the wheel, host Drew Carey, as he always does, asked Hector if there’s anyone he wanted to say hi to. After saying hi to his girlfriend and some women he’d met in line for the show, Hector broke the news to his (former?) employer. But he had some close calls before making it to that point.
Jeopardy! contestant and NBA podcaster Loren Lee Chen all but confirmed on Twitter that two of his Final Jeopardy wagers this week were poking fun at the Golden State Warriors. He makes reference to the fact that they went 73-9 last season on their way to blowing a 3-1 lead to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals.
Running around yelling and screaming is perfectly normal when a contestant guesses closest to the right price from the contestants’ row and gets to go onstage to play a game. Doing a handstand as soon as he gets onstage is not normal, and that’s exactly what this contestant did.
It’s already the third season of The Price Is Right Thailand, and we JUST discovered it. There are slight differences between The Price Is RIght Thailand and its American counterpart, but it is every bit as entertaining if not more so, whether you understand the language or not. The biggest difference is how comparatively calm the contestants in Thailand are when their names are called to play.
On The Price Is Right, one contestant excitedly hugged Drew Carey, which is fairly common, but what was uncommon is that she told Carey that he was her boyfriend in high school. On Jeopardy, Alex Trebek finally found a contestant he couldn’t bully.
In 1980, White was a contestant on The Price Is Right, but she didn’t win a “doggone thing,” as she puts it. Not only that, but host Bob Barker called her out for looking at herself in the monitor the whole time! More than 35 years later, White has an explanation for this.
For any poor soul out there who didn’t get to watch every minute of every game show in 2016, you’re in luck. From every absurd answer to every stunning victory — every sweet moment to every moment a host talked down to a contestant — we’ve picked out the top game show moments of 2016. Next up, on Jeopardy, it seems Alex Trebek has been the suave host for so long he’s forgotten how relationships work for the average guy.
On Thursday’s episode of Jeopardy!, a contestant named Sara committed two major musical errors.
This week marks Bob Barker’s 93rd birthday! And the legacy of the distinguished former host of The Price Is Right seems as cemented in place as it did when he passed the skinny mic to reigning host Drew Carey nearly a decade ago. Bob’s famous passion for animal philanthropy, marked by his episode-closing reminder to “spay and neuter your pets,” is still going strong.
It was college week on "Wheel of Fortune," but after having a day like Emily from Loyola Marymount University had, who needs college?
