Elijah Wood’s appearance on The Late Show proved to be a daunting prospect for host and avid Lord of the Rings fan Stephen Colbert. Wood was there to promote his new film, The Last Witch Hunter, so Colbert made a vow to “not talk about The Lord of the Rings for eight minutes.” Eventually, Wood made a Tolkien reference, and the bait was too much for Colbert to bear, but he really gave his best effort.
