But when Golding, who plays a rival gang leader from Asia, attempts about to buy him out of his business, McConaughey’s character is none too pleased.“There once was a young and foolish dragon who came to ask a wise and cunning lion about acquiring his territory,” McConaughey says as the start of his fable. “There’s only one rule in this jungle. The Stars of 'Lost City of Z' Speculate on the Mysterious Fate of Percy Fawcett (Spoilers)
Based on the book by David Grann, James Gray’s new action-adventure The Lost City of Z tells the true story of Percy Fawcett (Charlie Hunnam), an early 20th century British military man-turned-explorer who on multiple occasions set out to find a legendary land he believed hidden deep in the Amazon. No one truly knows what happened to Fawcett, who, along with son Jack (Tom Holland), disappeared on a jungle excursion in 1925. The Fawcetts are seen captured by an indigenous tribe for a potentially cannibalistic ritual — and the explorers believe themselves doomed.

'Lost City of Z': Charlie Hunnam Meets a Tipsy Robert Pattinson in Exclusive Clip
As one of real-life adventurer Percy Fawcett’s fellow explorers, the British corporal is a relatively minor character in Grann’s recounting, and generally overshadowed by the louder (and more despicable) James Murray. Costin gets an upgrade in the new film adaptation, The Lost City of Z, and a very familiar face to play him: Twilight alum Robert Pattinson. Costin ultimately becomes the closest thing Fawcett (Charlie Hunnam) has to a right-hand man, though as you can see in the exclusive clip above, their relationship doesn’t get off to the smoothest start.

New York Film Review: 'The Lost City of Z' Is Part 'Apocalypse Now,' Part 'Masterpiece Theatre'
Kurtz, the fabled central figure in “Heart of Darkness,” entered a primitive jungle world and made himself over into its homicidal master. His colonial malevolence was echoed in two landmark films of the ’70s: “Aguirre, the Wrath of God,” in which Klaus Kinski’s bug-eyed, raving conquistador led a jungle odyssey into madness, and “Apocalypse Now,”... <a href="http://variety.com/2016/film/reviews/the-lost-city-of-z-review-new-york-film-festival-1201890183/" title="Read New York Film Review: ‘The Lost City of Z’">Read more »</a><img src="http://media.zenfs.com/en_US/Entertainment/Variety/pc17#038;c26035310#038;c310000#038;cv2.0#038;cj1" class="editorial"/>
