Tacos El Costeño will open restaurant on Mitchell Street
A new taco restaurant is coming to Historic Mitchell Street.
Tacos El Costeño, which operates as a food truck on South 13th Street and West Howard Avenue, will open at 807 W. Historic Mitchell St. later this month, pending inspections and paper work, according to owner Joaquin Garcia.
The new restaurant is at the location of the former Damascus Gate restaurant, which closed late last year. Puerto Rican restaurant La Ventanita briefly replaced Damascus Gate but quickly closed, Garcia said.
Garcia plans to serve a similar menu as his food truck, which includes tacos and traditional Mexican platters.
