TableScapes 2024 set for March 15-16 at ISU

Mar. 6—Arts Illiana invites the public to TableScapes 2024, the organization's annual fundraiser that helps to forward its mission to "promote, support and enhance the arts and cultural activities of the Wabash Valley."

TableScapes 2024 is March 15 and 16 at the Sycamore Banquet Center in the Hulman Memorial Union at Indiana State University. Both days include daily viewing from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for $10.

On Friday, there is a "Celebration of Design" where attendees can mingle with the designers and enjoy hors d'oeuvres and music from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for $25.

On Saturday night, "Dinner at the Scapes" is offered. In addition to the auction and seated dinner, entertainment will include music, a caricature artist and two local artists creating a painting throughout the evening. Both of these pieces will be included in a silent auction basket.

Tickets for the dinner are $85.

Tickets are available at www.artsilliana.com/tablescapes-2024.

The Hometown Savings Bank is the presenting sponsor for the event. The two-day event continues the tradition of engaging the community with an immersion of arts and culture, according to a news release from Arts Illiana.

This year, twenty-three businesses, individuals and organizations will create dynamic Scapes that cover themes as diverse as a tribute to one's mother to a table celebrating Jimmy Buffet.

The tables are judged in these categories: Best New Designer, Best Centerpiece, Best Theme, Best Visual Story, Judges Choice Runner up, Judges Choice Winner, People's Choice Winner.

In its second year, there will be nine TableScapes Junior tables. The Junior division is open to children Pre K-12th grade with entries from school programs, organizations and individuals. In this category, the children must be the designers and creators of the table elements.

TableScapes has a history of a strong silent auction, and this year is no exception, organizers say.

Items range from an overnight stay at Clayshire Castle to a nature themed basket with an Indiana Parks Pass, filled picnic basket and cooler, guided walks and nature books. There is an eclipse basket with passes to many eclipse activities and swag.

Donated artwork and hand-crafted jewelry from area artists will also be in the auction.

All bids must be made in person.

The event raffle item for 2024 is a silver pendant designed by artist Carolyn Phillips and created by Ross Elliott Jewelers. Tickets to bid on this pendant are $5.
