‘T2: Trainspotting’ International Trailer Shows Off New Footage (Watch)

The original cast of “Trainspotting” reunites in the international trailer for “T2: Trainspotting,” packed with brand new footage of the long-awaited sequel.

Director Danny Boyle brings back Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller, and Robert Carlyle in the sequel two decades in the making. The film seems to reference closely to the original, as Mark Renton (McGregor), Spud (Bremner), Sick Boy (Miller), and Begbie (Carlyle) reunite to solve unfinished business. The new trailer also references the ending of the first film, in which Renton steals £16,000 from the drug deal that was supposed to be split among the gang.

“Choose life. Choose Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and hope that someone, somewhere cares,” narrates McGregor’s character in the trailer, an ode to the famous quote from the original.

T2: Trainspotting” is based on Irvine Welsh’s novel “Porno,” his sequel to “Trainspotting.” The film is written by John Hodge and produced by Bernard Bellew, Chy Boyle, Christian Colson, and Andrew Macdonald.

“Choose the ones you love. Choose your future. Choose life,” continues McGregor.

The film opens in the U.K. on Jan. 27, 2017. Its U.S. release has been pushed up from February 2017 and will now premiere March 3, 2017.
