Topeka artist gets special recognition at fifth annual ‘T-Rell Day’

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Local Topeka artist, T-Rell, hosted his fifth annual community cookout at Lake Shawnee on Sunday, May 26.

Along with the BBQ, people got to enjoy a water gun fight. More importantly, T-Rell gave out hundreds of pairs of shoes to kids for free.

Being a “big kid” himself, T-Rell tells 27 News why he wanted to make this day special for kids.

“I want the kids to understand that they’re the future, they need peace, they need fun they need some type of activity that gives them a great mindset for the rest of the summer,” T-Rell said.
