T.I. had jokes for newer musicians during a recent stand-up comedy set.

The 43-year-old teased rising rap artists for including current illicit behavior in their records. A clip of the rapper-turned-comedian making rounds on social media previewed the joke, which is featured in T.I.’s set on BET’s Comic View revival.

“Listen to first generation of trap music, people like me, Jeezy, Yo Gotti, you know what I’m saying?” began the Atlanta native.

“We were rapping about things we had done, got away with, and moved on. You hear me? You listen to these new-age trap music [rappers], they talkin’ bout sh*t they finna do tomorrow, you feel what I’m saying?”

As part of the pending Comic View reboot, the routine stands at the Trap Muzik performer’s first televised standup special. Filmed last year in Las Vegas, the series is hosted by Mike Epps. The talent lineup includes Tommy Davidson, Tacarra Williams, Tony T. Roberts, Bresha Webb, and D.C. Young Fly.

“Over 30 years ago, Comic View set the footprint for stand-up specials and launched the careers of some of today’s mega-comedy stars,” detailed BET CEO and President Scott Mills when the series was announced.

“We can’t wait to see this new group of talented and rising comedians. We are so proud to work with this all-star production team, including Mike Epps, and the impressive roster of talent that will bring you the best comedy you’ll see all year long.

The new Comic View premiered last week, exclusively on BET+. Watch the trailer below.
