Holmes suggested that ABC might fire Haines from her post on 'The View' over her friendship with Robach.

T.J. Holmes joked that he and Amy Robach's headline-making courtship might soon claim another ABC personality's job.

During the couple's first public media discussion on their new Amy & T.J. podcast — which dropped Tuesday, one year after their ousting from GMA3 in December 2022 over the revelation of their intimate relationship — Robach revealed that the former on-air personalities each went through "a year of hell" in the wake of their network exit, but that they got through it with family and a "tight circle of friends" by their side.

"You know who your friends are and you definitely find out who your friends aren't in these types of moments," Robach said later in the episode, before going on to cite a current cohost on The View as one of her most cherished friendships through the ordeal. "One of the people who started and wouldn't stop texting me even when I didn't respond? Sara Haines, she was an absolute pleasure."

Holmes butted in to quip that The View was "probably going to fire her" after the podcast dropped — a fear Robach echoed.

"I think it's positive, but maybe it won't be positive for her. You also worry, being connected to us might also bring you down, but she was incredible, she and I have been friends for 15 years," Robach continued. "Honestly, for someone who still works at that network to keep checking in, keep calling, to actually be seen in public with me, that is a statement, that is something. It shows incredible support."

EW has reached out to a representative for The View for comment.

Haines previously co-hosted GMA3, the daily live broadcast of the third hour of Good Morning America, alongside Michael Strahan upon the program's launch in 2018. Actress Keke Palmer later joined the pair in 2019, though the show reformatted amid the coronavirus pandemic and eventually brought on Robach and Holmes as its primary anchors.

Haines first joined The View between 2016 and 2018, and re-joined the Hot Topics table in 2020, where she has since remained as a permanent panelist.
