Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes are looking back at a moment when they nearly called it quits.

On the latest episode of their Amy and T.J. Podcast, Holmes recalled how a argument nearly led to the former GMA3: What You Need To Know anchors to break up.

"The closest we got to our relationship ending was a disagreement — a fight — we had that was really based on a fear and lack of communication to where we thought, 'Wow. We went through all this, and maybe we're not compatible," explained the former newsman, 46. "'Maybe we missed something.'"

During the episode, the couple also received the results of their OkCupid compatibility questionnaire from their guest Michael Kaye, the head of communications for the dating site.

“I've done this a lot with people who are already dating, engaged, married and I have to say, y'all agreed on a lot, overwhelmingly...,” he shared with the couple. “OK, you're both — and no one yell at me — they call themselves this. You're both extroverts. You're both intense people. You're morning people, you who enjoy relaxing at home, you're closer to your family, you're open to cooking together.”

Kaye also shared that the pair were aligned on the test’s “saucy questions” which included their bedroom preferences.

“You both enjoy sex more than foreplay. You're super into post-workout sex and shower sex,” he told Holmes and Robach, 50. “And people, they prefer cuffs over ropes. So there was literally no question off limits in this test, which made it so much more fun.”

He added, “So there's a lot in the bedroom, out of the bedroom that you aligned on.”

When asked if they were shocked by the results of the test, Holmes responded, “No, actually. We know each other really, really well.”

“The thing is we've been friends now for nine years,” Robach added. “It's an interesting thing when you don't have romantic designs on someone you're more willing to be telling all and vulnerable and I let him see my quirks, he let me see his [quirks] in a way that I don't think you would do if you just started out dating. So we actually know maybe even too much about each other.”

Kaye also revealed there were only a few questions where they disagreed.

“We also asked what you value most in a partner, you disagreed on this, but I loved your responses,” he said. “So Amy said communication. T.J. you said trust, when neither of you said was physical attraction and romance. And while both of those are absolutely important, it really showed me that you both were looking for that deep, meaningful relationship with a really strong foundation. So I didn't even want to consider that a disagreement.”

“And I actually was going back and forth between trust and communication,” Robach responded. “I didn't know how to put one above the other.”

Robach and Holmes’ relationship became public in November 2022 after they were photographed getting cozy together at a New York City bar and displaying PDA. Holmes and Fiebig settled their divorce a few weeks later, while Robach also finalized her divorce from actor Andrew Shue in March, per Page Six.

Over the past few months, the pair have become more comfortable showcasing their relationship, with many romantic outings both at home and abroad. Last month, the pair even made their red carpet-debut as a couple at iHeartRadio's Jingle Ball 2023.
