T. Dewitt Taylor Middle-High School celebrates the Class of 2022

Friends and family cheered on T. Dewitt Taylor Middle-High School's Class of 2022 as 123 graduates received their diplomas Friday evening at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach.

Valedictorian Armondo Cruz, who will study pre-med at the University of Florida, and salutatorian Deana Cunningham, who will study computer science at the University of Central Florida, addressed their peers during the ceremony.

Friday's celebration was the 11th graduation ceremony for Volusia County Schools' 2022 graduation season, with 3,905 expected to walk across the stage and flip their tassels.

These graduates have completed their final two years of high school amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
