T.I. calls Trump a 'madman' in rant against the president

If there is such a thing as a double boycott, the Trumps might call for one in light of T.I.’s latest comments about the prez.

The rapper very publicly isn’t a Donald Trump supporter — he caused a fuss when he had a Melania Trump look-alike strip in his album teaser. And he won’t be silenced. During an interview with BET’s Raquel Harper for her Raq Rants show that airs Tuesday night, he was asked what his biggest issues are with the Trump administration. He wasted no time rattling off his list of grievances.

“Privilege, entitlement, hypocrisy,” T.I. began. “The fact that people feel the color of their skin makes them a better person and more qualified and more eligible for opportunities.”

He continued, “We can’t continue to call ourselves the greatest nation in the world if we continue to behave this way. And on the world stage, it’s a joke. How could you let such a thing happen to your country? How could you put the most prestigious office to be held in the free world, how could you let that fall into the hands of a madman?”

T.I. is unabashedly anti-Trump. He has spoken out against the reality TV star turned president all along, whether it was defending Snoop Dogg after Trump said he has a “failing career” or joking to our reporter Kevin Polowy about Trump’s tiny hands. T.I. also declared himself done with Kanye West after his bizarre White House trip, saying his fellow rapper’s “soul” was “on auction.”

However, T.I. really infuriated the White House when he had a woman dressed similarly to the first lady — complete with an “I really don’t care, do U?” jacket — strip for him on an Oval Office set in a video promoting his album Dime Trap. FLOTUS’s spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, called the video “disgusting” and urged people to boycott the rapper. The model who played Melania Trump, Melanie Marden, received death threats over the whole saga.
