T.I. Backlash Continues After He Revealed He Makes Daughter Take Yearly Virginity Test

The fallout continues for T.I. after he admitted taking his 18-year-old daughter to the gynecologist to check her hymen.

Earlier this week, the rapper appeared on the podcast “Ladies Like Us”, which is hosted by Nazanin Mandi and Nadia Moham.

On the show, T.I. claimed he accompanies his daughter, Deyjah Harris, to the gynecologist every year. He goes with her to confirm her hymen is still intact, which he believed would indicate she is still a virgin.

He claims to go with Deyjah to the doctor on her birthday. He even describes telling his daughter to sign medical releases to keep him in the loop. He told the hosts his daughter’s hymen was still intact on her 18th birthday visit.

The hosts of the podcast laughed at T.I.’s comments and many online were furious at them. Nazanin Mandi and Nadia Moham couldn’t stop chuckling during the interview.

One of the hosts did comment while laughing, “someone check on Deyjah. She is a prisoner.”

Nazanin Mandi and Nadia Moham have now released a statement apologizing for their initial reaction to T.I.’s comments.

The statement reads, “To everyone confused, angry and hurt by the recent episode of “Ladies Like Us”, we want to start off by saying that we sincerely apologize for our knee jerk reaction to the uncomfortable topic. We were completely caught off guard/shocked and looking back, we should have reacted much differently in the moment. The comments that were made and the reaction that followed are not in any way a reflection of our personal views on the topic. We support and love Women and feel that their bodies are theirs to do as they wish. There was absolutely no ill intent towards any party involved & feel deeply awful about the entire incident. We are not perfect, take full accountability of our lack of action & are continuously learning along the way. We know an apology doesn’t make this go away but we welcome the discussion -that’s what our podcast is about.”

T.I.’s comment caused an immediate uproar from fans, celebrities and even Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood tweeted out, “A virgin is someone who’s never had sex. But “sex” means different things to different people, so “virginity” does too. Many don't care what it means or think it matters. Whatever you believe, the fact is you can’t tell if someone’s had sex by checking their hymen.”

They added, “Some people think you can tell if someone’s had sex before if their hymen is stretched open. But that’s not the case. Say it with us: YOU👏CAN’T👏TELL👏IF👏SOMEONE’S👏HAD👏SEX👏BY👏THE👏WAY👏THEIR👏HYMEN👏LOOKS👏OR👏FEELS."

Actress Ellen Barkin may have had the best response, “I have bad news for T.I. After 6 months of vaginal sex...my hyman broke.”

Others took to social media writing, “If you're defending T.I.'s atrocious practice of having his 18-year-old daughter's hymen checked, and the gynecologist violating HIPPA to accommodate T.I.'s creepy request, then you're a disgusting misogynist, too.

Women are not your property. Not even your daughter.”

Chrissy Teigen wrote, "def did not think we would be talking about hymens today. or TI."
