Delaware State University alum SZA had a very busy Sunday night at the Billboard Music Awards, winning four awards after nabbing 17 nominations in 16 categories.

R&B singer SZA (Solana Imani Rowe) won in four categories: Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Female Artist, Top R&B Song ("Kill Bill") and Top R&B Album ("SOS").

She bested Beyoncé in three of the four categories (Queen Bey wasn't nominated in the Top R&B Song category.)

SZA shared in a best pop duo-group Grammy Award with Doja Cat at the 64th annual Grammy Awards in Las Vegas. SZA is nominated for a leading nine awards for the 2024 ceremony, to be held Feb. 4 in Los Angeles.

SZA also beat out heavy hitters Drake (Top R&B Album); Chris Brown, Rihanna and The Weeknd (Top R&B Artist); Metro Boomin, The Weeknd and 21 Savage (Top R&B Song), plus The Weekend and Ariana Grande (Top R&B Song).

The singer-songwriter from Maplewood, New Jersey's stiffest competition Sunday was against the new billionaire Taylor Swift. T-Swift received 10 awards, six of which were in categories that included SZA, such as Top Female Artist and Top Artist.

Earlier this month, the former Del State Hornet made headlines when she led the 2024 Grammy Awards nominations. The recording industry's big night is slated for Sunday, Feb. 4 in Los Angeles.

The Grammy-winning artist's next concert is at the iHeart Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden featuring Olivia Rodrigo, One Republic, Sabrina Carpenter, Jelly Roll, Big Time Rush, Doechii, Pentatonix, David Kushner and Melanie Martinez.
