SZA Addresses Album That Leaked on Spotify, Apple Music

She calls the “Sister Solana” LP with Kendrick Lamar verses a series of “random scratches from 2015”

Tonight, word spread on the internet that a new SZA album had apparently surfaced on streaming platforms earlier this month. The album turned out to be a leak of older unreleased music. Comethru was uploaded to Apple Music and Spotify on December 4, credited to “Sister Solana,” and released on a label called Scissor. The nine-track record appeared to feature verses from Kendrick Lamar, who was billed as “King Kenny.” SZA confirmed on her Instagram story tonight that the album is a leak.

“These are random scratches from 2015,” she wrote. “Def not new new! But... creative? And scary?” She also promised that new music is on the way; she’s been teasing new music on Instagram this month.

SZA’s last LP was 2017’s CTRL. Recently SZA and Kendrick were shortlisted for a Best Original Song Oscar for their Black Panther track “All the Stars.”
