Mariah Carey may be the unofficial Queen of Christmas, but Sydney Sweeney sure knows how to celebrate, too.

“I love the holidays,” Sweeney, 26, tells PEOPLE.

The Euphoria and The White Lotus star — born in Spokane, Washington, and raised in Idaho by her parents, Lisa, a former attorney, and Steven, who works in hospitality — adds that she likes to spoil her loved ones.

“I get matching onesies for every single one of my family members, pets included,” says Sweeney, whose parents are now divorced. “We just have a giant room of 60 cousins, aunts and uncles, all in matching onesies.”

With everyone in their outfits, the Sweeneys strike a pose. “Then we do a pyramid where we all try and stack ourselves on top of each other and take a yearly photo,” she says.

Afterwards, they exchange presents. “We do Secret Santa,” Sweeney continues. “I love just giving gifts and seeing how happy people get.”

Sweeney is looking forward to celebrating with her family after what she calls a “whirlwind” time in her life.

The actress, who is engaged to producer Jonathan Davino, filmed and released the romantic comedy Anyone But You, costarring Glen Powell. In addition to starring in the movie, Sweeney also served as an executive producer.

She also earned a Critics Choice Award nomination — her first — for best actress in a limited TV series or movie for her lead role in the HBO film Reality. She portrays former NSA translator Reality Winner, who leaked classified government documents to the press.

Sweeney, who’s been filming the Ron Howard movie Eden, costarring Ana de Armas and Jude Law, in Australia, has a busy year ahead, too.

In addition to releasing other projects, she’ll film Season 3 of Euphoria, reprising her Emmy-nominated role as Cassie Howard, a troubled teen who began secretly dating the ex-boyfriend (Jacob Elordi) of her best friend Maddy Perez (Alexa Demie), a situation which proved to be explosive.

About the forthcoming season, Sweeney is tight-lipped. “I can’t say anything,” she teases. “I'm really excited to get back to it.”

Anyone But You is now in theaters nationwide.
