Sydney Sweeney SLAMS Bikini Company In Lawsuit; Claims They’re ‘Shoddy’ & ‘Scammers’

Sydney Sweeney is responding to a lawsuit filed against her by a bikini company, had she is not holding back!

The “Euphoria” actress had to come down from her two-time Emmy nominee high when a California-based company recently slapped a lawsuit against her for breaking her contract.

Sydney Sweeney Accuses Of Bailing On Bikini Company Deal

LA Collective claims the “White Lotus” actress approved the swim brand’s design and prototypes, only to “cancel the agreement without any explanation or cause,” per legal documents. However, in her eyes… this is NOT how things played out.

According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Sydney is blasting the company -- claiming she bailed after learning the company had tons of issues.

LA Collective’s claims of breaching the contract were shot down by Sweeney and her legal team.

In the documents, filed by top gun attorney Andrew Brettler, Sydney stopped working with the company claiming they are "an exceedingly disreputable clothing company which has earned itself an “F” rating by the Better Business Bureau and has a reputation for scamming its customers, business associates, and creditors alike."

Adding, they have "made a name for itself by piggybacking onto the fame of successful actresses and influencers, using the goodwill and notoriety of actresses like Sweeney to sell clothing online and reap a tremendous profit for itself."

As we reported, LA Collective alleges Sweeney “appropriated the designs… for her own use,” and wore them “on at least five episodes” of “Euphoria.”

LA Collective believes they would’ve generated at least three million dollars in revenue and is demanding Sweeney pay damages for backing out of the contract. On November 4, 2020, LA Collective approached Sweeney with a proposal for her to serve as its “headlining collaborator” for the company’s Spring/Summer 2021 bathing suit collection.

Sydney Claims The Company Is "Shoddy" & "Fraudulent"

Unbeknownst to Sweeney at the time, she claims LA Collective’s business dealings were rife with scandal, incompetence, and dishonesty. Indeed, the owners have been sued numerous times for fraud and other torts by their business partners, suppliers, creditors, and customers.

Sweeney says she was "exposed first-hand to LA Collective’s fraudulent business practices and atrocious reputation in the industry. Wanting nothing to do with LA Collective (and for good reason), Sweeney ended the relationship at the negotiation phase – which she had every right to do. Defendants neither reached an agreement with LA Collective nor executed a contract with the company."

Sweeney and her team explained in detail why they decided to cut off the deal and their relations with LA Collective.

“Unfortunately, after beginning negotiations with Plaintiff regarding the potential business endeavor, Defendants were exposed first-hand to LA Collective’s fraudulent business practices and atrocious reputation in the industry. Wanting nothing to do with LA Collective (and for good reason), Sweeney ended the relationship at the negotiation phase – which she had every right to do."

She really drove her point home about why she is not one to be sued.

Sydney Claims LA Collective's Claims Are Baseless

“Now, in retaliation for Defendants’ unwillingness to take part in LA Collective’s shoddy business operation, LA Collective has asserted baseless and grossly inadequate claims against Sweeney,” the suit states.

According to Page Six Style, the swimsuits Sweeney wore in “Euphoria” skyrocketed in sales for those particular companies.

Her pink strappy bikini, aka the “Gemma” suit, from Frankies Bikinis in Season two of the HBO show ($180) had a 500-person waitlist in under 24 hours of the episode airing.

The case is ongoing.
