Sydney Sweeney is sharing a mild injury she suffered on Anyone But You's set.

Sweeney, 26, appeared on Live with Kelly and Mark on Tuesday to promote her new romantic comedy, and in the process, she revealed that a huntsman's spider featured in one scene of the film actually bit her.

"That was a real spider. It bit me. It was a huntsman," Sweeney said after Live with Kelly and Mark played the scene in question and cohost Kelly Ripa asked whether the spider was real.

"While we were filming that scene, it bit me. It hurt so bad, I had horrible, horrible marks on my hand," she shared. "I had to take meds and everything. Because anything can kill you in Australia."

Recent trailers for Anyone But You, which costars Sweeney and Glen Powell as Bea and Ben, a pair of wedding attendees in Australia who pretend to be a couple, features one scene in which they get handsy with each other during a hike for show. Bea eventually pulls a large spider out of Ben's pants and throws it to the ground as Ben rips off all his clothing to rid himself of any other spiders.

Sweeney also shared her spider-bite anecdote when she and Powell visited the Today show on Monday.

"The spider actually bit me in the middle of the scene, but nobody called cut because they thought I was just making a very dramatic, interesting choice in this scene," she said, as the show aired actual footage from the moment the spider bit her.

"Glen was the only one who finally caught on — they thought I was acting but it actually bit me," she said.

Powell added, "There's a different tone to her voice when somebody is actually being bit by a spider. We just thought it was really dramatic improv."

Spiders were not the only hazard Anyone But You's cast and crew faced while filming in Australia earlier this year. The movie's director Will Gluck recently shared with Entertainment Weekly that one sequence in the film was knowingly shot in shark-infested waters in Sydney, the country's largest city.

"A big part of the movie was filmed in Sydney Harbor on a boat with them floating on a buoy in the middle of the harbor at night," Gluck, 45, said. "Initially they wouldn't give us permission because it's a huge shark area and people get hurt by sharks all the time there."

“It was a little bit scary and strange at three in the morning with our actors swimming into a shark tank, knowing that they're at a place where sharks like to hang out," he added, describing tanks the production utilized to keep its actors safe as "floating buoys with a cage."

Anyone But You is in theaters Dec. 22.
