In her new horror flick, Immaculate, Sydney Sweeney plays a young woman of devout faith who joins a convent and ends up uncovering a lot of dark secrets. Given the creepy nature of the film, it makes sense the actor decided to go with an all-black outfit for a press conference to promote the movie in Mexico City on Thursday night.

For the event, Sweeney chose an elegant LBD from Miu Miu, which had teardrop-shaped cutouts on the hips decorated with small elastic bows at the top. These subtle details added a coquettish touch to the sleek design, which was sleeveless and featured a boatneck hemline.

Besides the bows, the Euphoria actor leaned into another current trend, as she paired the form-fitting dress with a set of short leather opera gloves. Everyone from Anya Taylor-Joy to Beyoncé has been incorporating these formal accessories into their ensembles, and Sweeney’s inclusion helped to add a pleasing texture to the monochromatic fit. Not to mention, they also gave the feminine ensemble a rebellious twist. As for her shoes, Sweeney kept everything black with her strappy heels, which featured silver gemstones decorating the bands.

Throughout the promotion for her religious horror flick, Sweeney has been sticking with a black and white palette, a somewhat “nun-core” aesthetic. So far, we’ve seen her wear a white ribbed knit sweater and black slacks to the Beyond Fest premiere. Then, for the red carpet that same night, she changed into a sculptural white top composed of artificial hands and flowers, which she paired with jet-black trousers.
