SWV And Xscape Announce Co-Headlining ‘Queens Of R&B’ Tour
After teasing what many predicted to be a second season of their reality show, SWV and Xscape instead revealed that they’ve reunited for The Queens Of R&B Tour with support from fellow female R&B legends, Mýa, Total, and 702.
The dynamic tour—produced by Mona Scott-Young’s Monami Entertainment and Live Nation—was first announced on Sherri on Monday (Mar. 25).
“To announce this HERstorical tour during Women’s History Month means everything,” said Scott-Young in a statement. “It speaks to the power of our ability as women to overcome adversity and emerge triumphant. 702, Total, Mýa, SWV, and Xscape have all weathered storms and are still here and better than ever! We are so excited to bring the fans an incredible and undeniable performance experience that truly celebrates R&B music.”
The 30-city tour kicks off on June 27 in Concord, CA, and will make stops in New York City, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Toronto, Las Vegas, St. Louis, and more before concluding in Los Angeles on Aug. 18.
A presale for Citi card members goes live on Tuesday (Mar. 26) at 10 a.m. local time with additional presales running throughout the week. General on sale starts on Friday, March 29, at 10 a.m. local time.
On the infamous reality show, SWV and Xscape butted heads over who would headline a one-night-only show while also dealing with personal drama. Sisters LaTocha and Tamika Scott feuded for the duration of the show over money and other familial issues. LaTocha left Xscape and is currently performing and releasing music as a solo artist. Despite SWV stating that the show “soiled” their relationship with Xscape, it appears the women have since reconciled.
