SVVSD hosts musical instrument collection drive

Sep. 21—St. Vrain Valley's Fine Arts department is hosting its fourth annual musical instrument collection drive.

Members of the community are invited to donate gently used instruments and receive a donation receipt from the St. Vrain Valley Schools Education Foundation.

Drop off is available from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday and 9 am. to 3 p.m. Sept. 29, both at the Lincoln School building, 619 Bowen St., Longmont.

Donated instruments are housed in the classroom for students to use during class or are available for students to rent long-term. Additional instruments allow families to try out an instrument without making a purchase.

After the drive, the district ensures all donations are cleaned, tuned and repaired. Instruments are distributed to schools by a raffle system. St. Vrain Valley isn't in need of upright pianos or keyboards.
