Sutton Stracke Reflects on Late Father and Ex-Husband

Season 13 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has been an emotional one for Sutton Stracke. We have seen her have a not-so-magical meltdown at Magic Mike Live. Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley talked about Sutton’s drinking behind her back. That led to Sutton accusing Kyle and her husband, Mauricio Umansky, of having marital problems during the infamous weed dinner.

However, newbie Annemarie Wiley, the nurse anesthetist, came in hot and was fixated on Sutton’s narrow esophagus. It was…a lot. But then Sutton showed how much she supported Kyle by being there for her at Kyle’s friend’s Celebration of Life event.

Finally, the ladies reached Barcelona, Spain. But Sutton brought a traveling companion in a little Ziploc bag. It was the ashes of her mentor, Merce Cunningham. Back in the ’90s, Sutton worked at his studio.

Sutton is ready to release some pent-up emotion

During the RHOBH: After Show, Sutton reflected on letting Merce go, and scattering his ashes in the ocean. “Three important men in my life. Merce was one of them. My father was another. Then Christian [Stracke], and I had to let them go,” Sutton explained, becoming emotional. “I did. I had to let my marriage go and though I didn’t have my dad’s ashes, sorry, they’re somewhere floating around the universe. He was with me, and umm… my marriage lingers sometimes,” she added.

“I know,” Sutton’s friend, Garcelle Beauvais, replied. “But not anymore, you know, especially [off] this time when Christian’s moving to London, and it’s really done,” Sutton stated.

When Sutton scattered the ashes, the wind blew it back towards her RHOBH co-stars. “Oh, sorry, the wind is blowing that way. Sorry, girls!” Sutton said during the episode.

“It was kind of a calm day but you know you’ve also got my father in this. My father and Merce and they were both very protective of me and so if y’all picking on me, he came back at you,” Sutton said. “And missed me completely!”

Well, the healing ceremony and Sutton scattering Merce’s ashes was certainly a memorable moment. I guess Merce and Sutton’s dad got their revenge on the ladies for giving Sutton a hard time.
