Suspected Bank Robber Found Sleeping Inside Unknowing Woman's Home After Fleeing Crime Scene

The 27-year-old man has been charged with armed robbery following his arrest by the Roswell Police Department in Georgia

A man suspected of robbing a bank in Georgia has been arrested on multiple charges after being found sleeping on the floor of an unknowing woman's home.

On Wednesday, the Roswell Police Department (RPD) arrested 27-year-old James Raborn and charged him with armed robbery, criminal trespass and other traffic offenses as the result of a pursuit. According to a RPD news release posted on Facebook, Raborn is alleged to have robbed Truist Bank on Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell on Monday after allegedly passing a note to a teller, demanding money and threatening the teller with a gun.

Police received a call around 3:30 p.m. local time Monday, 10 minutes after the alleged robbery, when Raborn reportedly had already fled the scene.

"Additional detectives responded to the bank and immediately set to work identifying suspect information," police said in the release. "Leveraging surveillance footage from the bank and neighboring businesses, along with the technology resources of the Roswell Crime Center, detectives were able to quickly identify an involved vehicle and potential suspects."

The next day, Tuesday, around 9 a.m. local time, license plate readers on E. Crossville Road in Roswell pointed police to Raborn, who is alleged to have driven off after an attempted traffic stop, per police.

RPD said that after a "short vehicle pursuit," the suspect fled officers on foot, and 29-year-old Emily Browning was discovered as a passenger in the vehicle. Browning was later noted as "a knowing participant" and was charged with armed robbery.

After "a large number of police resources flooded the Mountain Park area in a search for Raborn" — including K9 and drone teams — detectives used cell phone data on Wednesday to locate the suspect on Mountain Park Road. They then found "an outbuilding on a nearby property with evidence that someone had recently been inside," according to police.

"Detectives made contact with the homeowner, and as she came to the door to meet them, she saw Raborn lying on the floor of a spare bedroom," police shared. "The homeowner immediately exited and allowed officers inside, who took Raborn into custody without incident."

As authorities noted, the woman who owned the home was "not aware until that point" that Raborn was inside her home, and there had been no contact between the two. The Roswell Police Department shared that Raborn likely entered the residence via a kitchen window while the woman wasn't home.

Raborn was then transported to Fulton County Jail, where he was booked on Thursday. He and Browning are believed to have been involved in multiple armed robberies in the Metro Atlanta area, per police.

PEOPLE was unable to obtain attorney information for Raborn and Browning on Sunday.

According to Fulton County Jail records, Raborn is being held on a total of $16,500 bond for his multiple charges, and faces additional fines. CNN reported that he's being held on $20,000 bond.

Browning, who was booked on Tuesday, was released on Friday and her bond was set at $25,000, according to records.
