Suspect arrested in Peoria PNC Bank robbery
PEORIA — A 31-year-old man is suspected of robbing a Central Peoria bank last week, according to authorities.
Monterious M. Miller was taken into custody about 6:30 p.m. Thursday during a traffic stop in the 4700 block of North Sterling Avenue, Peoria police announced Friday. Later, he was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
Miller is accused of aggravated robbery on Jan. 20 at PNC Bank, 1411 W. Forrest Hill Ave.
About 2 p.m. that day, a man wearing dark clothing entered the bank, proceeded to a teller window and demanded money, according to police. No weapon was displayed, but one was implied.
With an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled on foot. A search that involved police dogs was futile.

Miller listed an address in the 1500 block of West Millman Street in Peoria. On Thursday, police stopped him for disregarding a stop signal, according to jail records. Miller also never was issued a driver's license.
According to police, Miller also was accused of aggravated fleeing and eluding in connection with a 2021 drugs arrest. He also had an outstanding Peoria County warrant.
