Susan Sarandon Blasts Hillary Clinton for Everything

Susan Sarandon is Bernie Sanders or bust. The Oscar-winning actress dropped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and openly declared her fervent opposition to former bestie and Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton. The 69-year-old star has been criticized for her vocal support of Sanders, something she chalks up to a “shaming of women.” According to Sarandon, women her age “are afraid to be vocal” about politics “because they don’t want to deal” with the attacks. But Sarandon isn’t afraid to get into a bit of hot water, or in this case a Twitter battle, over her devotion to Sanders.

Colbert addressed the rumors claiming that Sarandon would vote for Donald Trump if Sanders lost, and the Sanders supporter clarified that she would not vote for Trump should Sanders lose the nomination to Clinton. But Sarandon’s reasons for not supporting Clinton are based on the fact that she finds Clinton to be “a loose cannon” and “untrustworthy.” Clearly, Sarandon stands firm in what she believes. She repeatedly said that Clinton is someone who “acts on impulse,” and for the liberal Academy Award-winning actress, that is not a characteristic she wants her future president to hold.

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m.
