Former National Security Advisor and U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice appeared on Monday’s The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, where she railed against President Trump. Rice believes the current administration has done significant damage to the international reputation of the United States.

“Our allies don't know what to make of us,” said Rice. “The president of the United States is a liar and the whole world knows it.”

Based on the Trump administration’s reaction, or lack there of, to the coronavirus outbreak, Rice believes the world sees us as incompetent. She is also extremely concerned about the ramifications of a potential Trump re-election.

“I'm deeply, deeply concerned that if we had four more years of this, we would not be an America that anybody can recognize,” said Rice. “The situation would be unsalvageable, our national security and standing in the world irreparably damaged.”

Rice saved perhaps her most hyperbolic statement from the interview to reiterated the importance of the upcoming presidential election. “It's really a life or death situation we're in,” said Rice. “It's not too extreme a statement to make, both domestically and internationally.”

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on CBS.
