‘Survivor’ Contestants Struggle With Idea of Eating Baby and Mama Goats

Lack of food is a very real problem for the contestants on Survivor that is sometimes overlooked. They are literally starving themselves while competing in physically demanding challenges. That’s why some Survivor contestants will go to any lengths to put something in their belly.

This week, after the two tribes got split into three, members of new Nuku tribe found themselves hunting goats that had been wandering around that camp. When J.T. and Malcolm finally caught a baby goat and her mama, everyone was excited at the idea of a legit meal. But once they all started considering the fact that the catch was a cute little baby goat and its mom, most of the tribe started having second thoughts.

The one person who was totally for the slaughter of the goats was Sandra, who was ready to eat them the moment J.T. and Malcolm caught them. When Michaela came up and asked to pet the baby goat, Sandra said, “Yeah, don’t get too attached, because this is going to be our meal.”

Ultimately, the rest of the tribe outvoted Sandra; they decided to let the goats go free and eat the chickens — which, I’m sure, thought they got the raw end of the deal.

Survivor airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
