‘Survivor celebrates its upcoming 40th season, Jessica Simpson tells all in her new book and more of this week’s best in pop culture

“Survivor” takes a look back at the past 20 years as it gears up for its milestone 40th season. The reality competition series, hosted by Jeff Probst, will celebrate its upcoming season with a one-hour special, “Survivor at 40: Greatest Moments and Players," airing on CBS. The special will air a week ahead of the Season 40 premiere. Jessica Simpson bravely shares her story in her memoir, “Open Book.” The singer turned fashion mogul reveals she was sexually abused as a girl. The emotional pain along with other stresses caused her to self-medicate. “I was killing myself with all the drinking and pills,” she writes in her book. Green Day drops their 13th album, “Father of All …” The rockers are teaming up with Fall Out Boy and Weezer for a massive stadium tour that will kick off on July 13th.
