'Survivor 46' Star Kenzie Petty Announces Pregnancy

The Survivor world was shocked when one current contestant used Mother's Day to announce they were a mother-to-be. Kenzie Petty, a 29-year-old salon owner and current contestant on Season 46, posted on her Instagram on Sunday, May 12 that she was pregnant.

"I’ve gotten really good at keeping secrets and going on adventures this year," she wrote in the caption, alluding to he extended trip to Fiji last summer that she was able to keep from her inner circle, "but it’s finally the perfect day to tell y’all WE’RE HAVING A BABY!! Sweet lil Petty popping up in September. I love being pregnant, I love being alive, and I love my little bean. We couldn’t be more over the moon if we tried."

Kenzie then went on to shout out her husband, Jackson, who she wed back in September 2023. "The best husband in the world, thank you for making me a momma," she wrote. "Thank you for being my partner in crime, life and parenthood. I am forever grateful for you and for starting our little family. Even though it’s a day for the girlies, I literally couldn’t have done this without you and couldn’t have imagined a better father for my children."

At the time of this article's publication, Kenzie is one of six remaining contestants still in the hunt for the million-dollar prize on Survivor 46. She survived one of the roughest premerges for a contestant in the new era, part of a spiraling and chaotic Yanu tribe and living without fire for the first half of the game. The "mermaid dragon" has been swimming through less choppy waters comparatively in the postmerge, though she has weathered some absolutely wild and chaotic gameplay that has seen her tightest relationships fall apart.

Kenzie's announcement prompted a massive positive outpouring of response from the Survivor alumni community. Her post has received comments from former castaways from both the "new era" and the first 40 seasons. The well-wishers include three-time players Kellee Wentworth, Aubry Bracco, and Andrea Boekhle, winners Maryanne Oketch and Dee Valladares, and finalists Carolyn Wiger and Hannah Shapiro.
