‘Survivor 46’ preview: Randen Montalvo wants to prove daughter wrong by not getting voted out first [WATCH]

Survivor 46” contestant Randen Montalvo realizes that he is “signing up to struggle” by coming out to the play the game, but the 41-year-old aerospace tech from Brooklyn explains that “it’s full circle” because he’s “worked so hard not to struggle.” Watch their full CBS interview above.

Randen reflects on the “broken home” from his childhood and times when he was “running away from foster homes” and living on the streets as struggles from his past that he hasn’t shared with his kids yet. He says that he “had to force every single hand that was given to me in order to be who I am today” and so he’s sought a different life as a provider for his children.

As much as he’s given his kids, that hasn’t stopped his daughter from predicting that he will be the first voted out — she’s even planning a “number one party” for him when he comes back first. His goal for the show, however, is “not to go to a number one party.” Instead he plans to add to the pride he feels when he sees his kids enjoying life by coming home a winner that they can be proud of.
