‘Survivor 46’ preview: David Jelinsky calls himself ‘humorous, witty, but devious’ [WATCH]

Survivor 46” contestant David Jelinsky hopes that his competitors get the wrong first impression of him going into the game. The 22 year old slot machine salesman from Las Vegas compares himself to winner Tyson Apostol because they are both “very humorous, witty, but devious.” Watch their full CBS preview interview above.

David says that he expects the other castaways see him as “someone who wants to smoke a doobie on the beach,” not as the “super analytical, super intelligent” person he sees himself as. He goes on to refer to himself as “very devious,” so we should fully anticipate him to enter his villain era at some point on the island.

Growing up in Vegas with a dad that was a bookie meant that David spent a lot of time in casinos and because both of his parents were addicts he says he “knew from a young age that [he] was going to have to parent [himself.]” He sees his experiences in life as having prepared him to be “patient and calm” within the game. He adds that when he first watched the show he “knew this was what [he] was supposed to do.”

Don’t miss Jelinsky compete as an original member of the Yanu tribe sporting this season’s purple buff when “Survivor 46” premieres with two-hour episodes on Wednesday, February 28 and Wednesday, March 6, followed by 90-minute episodes thereafter. The new season features 18 new players divided into three tribes and they’ll vote each other out until only one remains on Day 26 as the $1 million winner. Do you think Jelinsky will be the newest champion?
