“Survivor” 46 Episode 4 Recap: A ‘Liability’ Unceremoniously Leaves the Game

The season’s fourth episode explored the aftermath of Randen’s medical evacuation and the Yanu tribe’s frustration with Bhanu being a ‘liability’

In Survivor 46’s “Wackadoodles Win” episode last week, the struggling Yanu tribe was saved from going to tribal council after Nami tribe’s Randen was pulled from the game to get an MRI, becoming the third eliminated player.

The fourth episode, titled “Don’t Touch the Oven,” explored the aftermath of his medical evacuation — with the thriving Nami tribe “heartbroken” from his departure and subsequently being dwindled down to five players.

While the unproblematic Siga tribe is riding high with all six members still on the island, the remaining Yanu four are once again in emotional tailspin after Bhanu revealed that he divulged way too much information to two castaways from opposing tribes.

“Bhanu is a liability,” said Yanu’s Kenzie, whom Bhanu revealed to those two competitors was his tribe’s “mastermind,” to her dismay because it puts a clear target on her back.

With their backs against the wall, the Yanu foursome finally won their first challenge after eight days of competition — a reward challenge that earned them 10 large fish that host Jeff Probst let them trade for a coveted tarp and toolkit to use at their camp.

Meanwhile, Siga went empty-handed back to camp, where the tribe reassured Maria that they don’t blame her for Siga losing the challenge.

Nami won a smaller amount of fish for finishing second. Tevin revealed that the fish meant so much to him because, as a montage helped showcase, his late father taught him how to clean fish before he died. Here, Tevin got to put those skills to use in front of his tribemates.

After Tevin’s sob story, he got back to strategizing. Feeling threatened about Soda’s impressive social skills, he began to rally people to vote out Soda. Liz agreed, saying Soda is “the one to beat” and that if Soda makes it to the merge she’d easily make it to the final tribal council.

Yanu’s winning spirit was short-lived. At the day nine immunity challenge, Nami and Siga earned immunity, sending Yanu back to tribal council.

Before tribal, Bhanu fell apart at camp, begging Kenzie to help him find an idol and getting on his knees to beg Tiffany to not vote him out.

“Five seconds of honesty ruined my game, and that’s how hard this game is,” confessed Bhanu, who lost his vote in the previous episode, referring to his inability to keep tribe intel private.

At tribal council, Bhanu told Probst he is 100% being voted out.

Probst then asked the three other Yanu players if this was true, to which they all agreed. Without votes even being cast, Probst sent Bhanu home, an unceremonious move that left a bad taste in some viewers’ mouths.
